Institute of Indian Interior Designers is body of 8000 plus professionals associated with profession of Interior Design in India. It was established in 1972 and now has presence in 29 Cities across India. IIID has multi Category membership structure with categories such as Associate, Fellow, Trade, Corporate.
To consolidate and expand the contribution of the Interior Design profession towards improving quality of life in contemporary and future societies by the sharing of knowledge and experience and the understanding of responsibilities.
- IIID Education Program aims to promote research and scientific work in Connection of Interior Design. IIID offers comprehensive syllabus on topics of Interior Design which has been adopted by 30 colleges to run courses on Interior Design in India. IIID also offers scholarships to deserving students to aid their completion of education in field of Interior Design.
- IIID has its own awards program to celebrate the achievements and works of Interior Designers in India. It also runs a Godrej Innovation award dedicated to field of innovation in Product Design in Country.
- IIID has its annual convention - last one was attended by over 2000 professionals at Indore. It was followed by Design Yatra which travelled over 25000 Km spreading the message of ‘Design for Masses’. Design yatra was covered by NDTV and sheer number of people participation and distance travelled was in itself a record.
- IIID carries out several activities such as designer meets, panel discussions, ideas exchange with foreign designers, Design Intervention in Public spaces etc that help in achieving its mission.
IIID is also a member of IFI – International Federation of Interior Architects/Interior Designers , APSDA – Asia Pacific Space Designers Association and JDF – Japan Design Foundation.
